My daughter has now attended Aldridge for two years, and I am very impressed with the teachers, principal and staff. She has progressed academically, and she loves being at school. Here first grade teacher has been with Aldridge for more than 30 years, and there are many other teachers that have been with Aldridge for many years. I'm proud of the fact that there are some transfer students at Aldridge. It means that Aldridge is a good school to be attending, if people go through the efforts to be there. Aldridge is currently going through a renovation. It's going to be up to date and beautiful when it's finished.

We are very disappointed by Aldridge. The high teacher turnover rate, drop in overall school rating (once exemplary), and lack of structure are big problems. There is also a high number of students who transfer in from other neighborhoods. We would not recommend this school to anyone.

Aldridge is an excellent school, my daughter has attended for five years and is doing great! The parents are very involved, the teachers are good and there are music, art, and sports programs.

Billy Long, a teacher here, is a superstar teacher. My son truly thrived under Mr. Long thanks to his attentiveness to my son's needs and his ability to follow-through. Several months after we moved to another school, Mr. Long wrote me to see how my son was doing. I found that a great testament to the type of person Mr. Long is that he still cared about my child even though he was no longer his teacher.

We are in our third year of being Aldridge parents and cannot say enough about the quality of the teachers there. A new Principal this year, Marilyn Carruthers, has energized the school and parent base to a new and wonderful level of involvement. The children succeed through the efforts of the caring and competent staff.

We have been very happy with/at Aldridge, especially since the new principal came this year (2004-2005). She could not be more wonderful. The teachers are all above average. There is still too much pressure put on the kids for TAKS testing, but this is not a problem isolated to Aldridge. It is a statewide problem. The parents are very involved and we have a great art and music program. Nothing offered after school except onsite after school care. I will be sad when my oldest leaves Aldridge this year for middle school.
