I have two children at Capitol Hill. I have been extremely impressed with the quality of teaching, the school personnel and the degree of parental support of the programs. A friend who has children at another school with a lofty reputation has been steadfast in her opinion that, in spite of their larger war chest, Capitol Hill's array of during and after-school programming is vastly superior. There is a supportive, calm and professional atmosphere that is hard to duplicate. I feel fortunate to have my kids at this school.

Wonderful caring environment. Large focus on art. Amazing parental involvement. My daughter was in catholic preschool, I am very happy with our decision to try public.

Capitol Hill is a sweet neighborhood school with a strong support group of parents, grandparents, neighbors, and community businesses. Besides a well-rounded academic program, the school offers a wide range of after-school arts and academic enrichment classes. They've also developed the District's unique after-school extended-day program, ExAcademy, which offers students the opportunity to stay in a safe, nurturing and enriching setting until 6pm. We've been neighbors for years and parents there for five, and we've been so very pleased with everything about this school.

My daughter has attended since second grade, and has built some very strong relationships with the other kids and teachers. The school fosters a very friendly and conscientious environment, where teasing is minimal and the children feel like part of a community.

This is a happy, functional school. The teachers like the principal, the parents are friendly, and the kids like to attend. Teachers only leave through retirement, and the teaching level is high.
