Excellent parent involvement. Our exerience last school year was better than private school due to small class size and well-experienced teacher. The generous financial participation of parents serves the school as well.

The quality of education in kindergarten and first grade is very good. From then on, the quality goes down. The vocabulary and spelling are both too simple and the vocabulary is presented in an unclear manner. The math is not explained well enough in the higher grades and Capri children entering Jr. High have to take after school math just to catch up to the lowest level of the other entering students. No one is teaching the craft of writing, students are on their own there once they are out of first grade. What a waste of time!

Our first grader started Spanish dual language program last year and is now bi-lingual! Mrs. Andrade was a great loss and new principle is still too new to rate. Scores are scary compared to other local schools (population driven), but had significant improvement this last year! Parent participation, programs and teachers are top notch and continue to get better! This school is a safe, hidden gem in the beautiful Leucadia family community.

Outstanding staff. Excellent parent participation. Our community loves this school and considers it and it's staff one our strongest assets, a great education for our children.

Unbelieveable parent participation. The Principal, Mrs. Andrade, seems to know every student by name. Lots of activities and after school involvement by parents and teachers.

I have 2 children attending Capri for 2 years now. Strengths of the school IMO are high level of parental involvement and small size and feel of the school. Weaknesses are obviously academic scores (see STAR ratings) and low quality PE.

Capri is a great school with a great staff. Very good teachers and parent participation. Small enough where you get to know many of the parents even the ones not in your childs' class. A lost gem in Leucadia.

I love Capri! The school is very active in the children's academics and encourages extracurricular activities. The teachers are dedicated to their classes and the learning process. You often find teachers there until 7p planning and preparing. There is always something happening at Capri. It is a large family environment and I would recommend it to anyone in and out of district.

I was skeptical about Capri when I moved to Encinitas. I had heard many different opinions and felt I would not be able to make a good choice for my kids untill I had met the principle and visited some classrooms to make up my own mind. The priciple is amazing and made me feel at ease instantly. I could hear the experience in her words and felt my child was in good hands. I enrolled both my children in the 2002 school year with the idea I could always pull them out if we found they were recieving inferior schooling. My children are still there and flourishing. We are all very happy we gave Capri a chance.

We love Capri. It had a terrible rep but we have discovered it is unfounded. Love the principal Andrade and small family community. We have 3 kids in the school and love it!

I had a kindergartener and a second grader at Capri last year, and I have only high praise about this school. The principal is very friendly, and stern, the perfect principle.

My child has been in two different schools here in California. The first experience was not what I anticipated and was becoming very nervous until we moved to the Encinitas area. I feel so blessed to have my daughter in Capri for the amazing teachers and on top of the the incredible leadership the principal has shown. Mrs. Piper is a true blessing and an asset to the Capri school.

Capri offers excellent educational quality to all student learning levels. The teachers we've had are very involved and provide constructive input to our child's progress. Mrs. Andrade is an excellent leader, principal, and role model who has high expectations for students. The students respond well to the overall leadership at Capri, anre interested in learning, and look forward to going to school. We are very happy with the entire Capri experience and feel fortunate to be a part of this 'family' where parents are very involved as well.

Capri school has proven to be a hidden gem. The principals direction of the school is excellent and enthusiastic. My son has enjoyed his first grade teacher and loves his school. School spirit is very high and parent involvement is obvious through the strong PTA.
