I totally disagree with the post from April 1st 08. I have a daughter that is a 6th grader at TRMS and we have had nothing but a positive experience with the administration and teaching staff. My daughter is a minority and has never felt not safe, teachers have always been accessible, via email or telephone call and it is a joy watching her flourish in this environment. This is a great school.

The school is ok. Some of the teachers do not take the time with your kids. Most of them leave early because they are on a so called contract. Some of them just don't care and no matter how much you voice your converns, they just don't get it! The students at Thunder Ridge deserve teachers who care! Students deserve the teacher's undivided attention. Many kids experience fustration, abuse, neglect at home and is looking for a place to go and be educated on how to deal with the burdens at home etc. If you are a minority this is really not the school for your child. It doesn't just take the effort of the principal. The teachers must also get involved and care for the child's well being. Parents get involved, have more conversations with your kids. You'll be surprised at the things they will tell you.

I was a student and Thunder Ridge Middle School for three years and i would have to say i did not enjoy the experience at all. There are some very good teachers but i would have to say the students are what i do not like. I was bullied for countless years. And when i stood up for myself i was accused of racism. I do not recommend this school.

I am a former student of TRMS ,as of this summer, and I think it is a wonderful school. Although they have some rough spots here and there, it only makes it stronger. The teachers are very nice, but still enforce the rules. The programs are great and it is easilly the best school I have gone to. (Out of 5)

The curriculum is excellent, the teachers phenomenal, and environment very kids appropriate: communities help kids know their school and staff know the kids. The response to parental input is above all others. Ability grouping, block scheduling, and true educational focus makes this school a gem. I've had one child go through and is now excelling in an IB program, and a second there learning to be challenged as well. (Choiced into the school, because knew they'd listen, care, and meet all needs.)

I'm currently an 8th grade student at TRMS. The teachers take their time teaching. And if one student doesn't understand, they will spend additional time with them. The electives and encore classes offer a wide range of choices. The security guards make sure everyone is safe and everyone loves Pete. I would recommend this school to new families and students looking for a great school.

I am currently an 8th grade student at TRMS, and I think its absolutely great. The teachers are great, they always are telling you to get help when you need it, and how you can as well. TRMS is a great school I definitely recommend this school!

Regardless of whatever else can be said about Thunder Ridge Middle School, thier teaching staff is first rate. I would especially like to single out Ms Ravnan, the orchestra teacher. She has demonstrated the limitless patience, abundance of practical experience and dogged determination of a top-notch educator. The district is richer for having her on staff and I personally am indebted to her for her kindness.

i am a previous student of thunder ridge middle school and my 3 years there just got worse and worse. the discipline is poor the administration doesnt jump to solving problems quickly . when students go to the office to write up incident reports the people working in the office ask questions and try to get the students out of writing reports or they'll ask what the problem is and say that theres nothing that can be done. for example i went to the office to write up a student that was constantly harassing me and they said that i needed a pass. this has happened to me seveneral times. not the best school.

The administrators and some of the teachers are a real let down at this school. When my daughter asks questions she is reprimanded for 'not paying attention'. I think that this is unacceptable. This school stresses that when kids have questions they should feel free to ask. She is afraid to raise her hand in class now and avoids talking to her teachers at all costs.

My son was attacked with a knife by a gang. The teachers are good, but the violence can really be dangerous.
