Korn guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer recently slashed the asking price on his home.
The home of rock band Korn guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer is now on the market for a cool $3.699 million. Located in Laguna Beach, Calif., with views of the Pacific Ocean, the residence was recently reduced from $3.749 million and was originally listed at $3.995 million, according to RedFin.com. Donna Pfanner of Coldwell Banker Previews International has the listing.
Shaffer purchased the 2,670-square-foot home -- which is a short walk from Crescent Bay Beach -- for $3 million in 2005, according to the home's listing on Cyberhomes.com. The median value for homes in Laguna Beach is just under $1.296 million, according to Cyberhomes data.
The 165 Crescent Bay Drive home, with its traditional architecture designed by architect John O'Neill, wood beams and Venetian-plastered walls, is more Old World than alternative metal, but the home does have some of the trappings one would expect of a rock star, like framed platinum records, a painting of Jimi Hendrix and awards from the Grammy’s and MTV Video Music Awards. Photos of the home's interior and some of its décor can be seen on the website for the OC Register.
