Yesterday, I blogged about impulse homebuying and buyer remorse. I'm wondering if Madonna is feeling the same pain, but on a much grander scale.

It seems that the Material Girl has purchased a 26-room mansion in Manhattan's Upper East Side for $40 million. She paid too much for it, Manhattan brokers say, even though her purchase price is said to be $5 million less than the original asking price.

The townhouse, located at 152 East 81st Street, between Lexington and Third Avenues, boasts 13 bedrooms, 14 bathrooms, a wine cellar and a 3,000-square-foot garden.

However, the residence is said to be located on the "wrong side" of Lexington Avenue and on an "ugly block," according to reports. Plus the Lexington Avenue subway can reportedly be felt and heard in the home.
