Stephanie Pearson is a freelance writer based in Santa Fe, N.M. A former senior editor at Outside magazine, Pearson has received three honorable mentions in The Best American Travel Writing series for stories on Bhutan, New Zealand and Guatemala. She was also the magazine’s Wild File columnist from 1999-2001. Previous to Outside, Pearson was the science writer for the online educational curriculum company Classroom Connect and traveled through Australia, Mexico, Belize and Guatemala posting live science curriculum on the web for classrooms in more than 50 countries.
