I often give thanks for my beautiful San Francisco neighborhood. Though I’ve lived in many amazing places — New York City, Palm Springs and Santa Cruz — there’s nothing like the beauty, vitality and peace of living on my little side street in the heart of San Francisco. Across the street is a big lavender bush and if you sit in my front window, you can watch people wander past and pick the flowers, squeezing the aroma onto their fingers. On rare warm days, the smell drifts in my windows. The houses are classic San Francisco painted ladies. There’s a library down the street. Neighbors are friendly and I'm on first-name bases with the adorable dogs that trot past daily. I’m blessed."
